David Hundeyin is one of the most educated journalists in the country. He did not study journalism at first. Instead, he studied Mass Communication at the Igbenedion University located in Edo State, Nigeria. However, he then furthered his education in the UK. David studied creative writing at the prestigious University of Hull.

Hundeyin graduated in 2011. He then looked for a job. Thankfully, he was granted a position at KPMG. KPMG is one of the big four firms in Nigeria. David worked as a contract staff there. After two years at KPMG, he then returned to his motherland.

David Hundeyin then was given a grant from an American-based subscription platform. He named this platform West Africa Weekly. This platform was designed to deliver newsletters to subscribers. West Africa Weekly made David gain creative independence from a brand.
However, he noticed that people were unable to get access to his website. He attributed this change to communication. This was because he had earlier given a report on Globacom owing some Indian worker’s salary.
David noticed that Globacom were throttling access to the site. Then, he embarked on dishing out newsletters to his subscribers to abate this problem.
In 2022, Hundeyin was the centre of an uproar. He posted investigative reports on Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Flutterwave and BBC. This article then caused issues between Hundeyin and his followers especially some who are Tinubu’s supporters.
During the election year, he posted a photo of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Guinean passport. This caused controversy because it questioned the president’s eligibility to rule Nigeria.
Hundeyin Declared Wanted
David Hundeyin stated that he is paying the price for speaking the truth. He stated that he was doing this in an unfashionable manner. However, this has made Nigeria’s security operative declare him wanted.
Hundeyin claimed that there had been attempts to make him a stateless person. He stated that his circumstances at the time might even be worse than being declared wanted. He revealed this to News Central TV.
The police high command announced after claiming that its agents are going after him and his accomplice, Michael Temidayo Alade, for allegedly violating the Official Secret Act by disclosing certain confidential material.
Both of them, according to the Nigerian police, are PIDOMNigeria’s partners, Bristol Isaac, who was recently apprehended by agents from the Nigerian Police National Cybercrime Center.
Hundeyin, who spoke on national television said that the National Intelligence Agency made a coordinated effort to capture him unlawfully from abroad. He stated that he had to move from Ghana to Kenya for his safety.
