Will Smith Education and Upbringing

Will Smith is from Philadelphia. He was born on the 25th of September 1968. His father is William Carroll Smith Sr. While his mother is a refrigerator engineer.

He grew up in the western area of Philadelphia. He has an elder sister and two junior siblings who are twins. Will Smith attended a school named Our Lady of Lourdes. This school was a Catholic school located in Philadelphia. He was 13 when his parents were divorced.

Smith started rapping at age 12. When his grandmother discovered a notebook of his songs, which he characterized as containing “all [his] little swear words,” she left him a message on a page within the book to stop using curse words. Philadelphia-based Word Records published their debut record in 1986 when A&R man Paul Oakenfold brought them to Champion Records with their tune “Girls Ain’t Nothing But Trouble,” a story of comical misfortunes that put Smith and his former DJ and rap collaborator Mark Forrest (Lord Supreme) in jail. The song made use of some sounds from the hit song ‘I Dream Of Jeanie’.
